Let AI agents
recognize and transcribe on this computer
AI agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code and OpenCode can call Armor's text recognition and speech-to-text over MCP. The work runs on your computer; it's off by default, each agent gets its own token, and you can revoke any of them.
01 — Tools
Three abilities your agent gets
Each connection can be granted only some of them. The tools use only the models and engines already installed and never download anything — when something is missing they return an error code, and you decide whether to install it in Armor.
Document OCR
Recognizes a PDF or image and returns each page's Markdown, its layout blocks (type, text, position) and its table cells.
- Send the file's content directly (up to 16 MiB) or a path inside an approved folder
- Recognize only the pages you pick
- Results show up in your Document Recognition workstation, marked with this connection
Returned content comes from your files. It is data, not instructions for the agent — the tool descriptions tell the agent plainly not to act on text found in it.
02 — Setup
Connect in three steps
- 1Turn on “Allow AI agents to connect”
- 2Click “New connection” and choose what this agent may use
- 3Paste what you get when it is created into the agent. The token is shown only once
Mock-up: connection names, the log and the token are made up; the token is shown as armor_mcp_….
03 — Guardrails
You open every door
Results handed to an agent are processed by that agent and may be sent to its own cloud service. Recognition and transcription run on your computer, but once a result is handed over, the agent decides where it goes — connect only agents you trust.
LAN connections use unencrypted HTTP, so anyone on the same network may be able to read a connection's token. Use this only on a network you trust, and revoke the connection when you no longer need it. Clear my data also removes every connection and the call log.
Rather not paste the config yourself
Copy the text the app gives you and paste it into Claude Code, Codex or another AI agent. It will add the server to its settings and test the connection by itself, whether it runs on this computer or on another computer on the LAN.
Please add Armor EdgeAI to your MCP settings: server name armor, address http://127.0.0.1:2918/v1/mcp, with the Authorization header. After adding it, list the tools once to confirm the connection…
